Weird

Random events I have witnessed after Katrina.

“It feels like living in a third world country.”
- A New Orleans resident on CNN

“The stock of all the financial institutions is going to crash because of all the un-recovered debt.”
- A colleague at work

A: “Did you hear. Gas prices just went up 50 cents because an oilfield in Louisiana blew because of the floods.”
B: “Did you say 50 cents! Noooooooooooooooooo!!”
- Conversation I overheard in the corridors

I guess, honesty isn’t always the best policy. :-/

Poor chaps. After dealing with Katrina, they are now having to deal with Rita.

Something I overheard in the corridors:

"Shit man, now where the hell are we supposed to go for Mardi Gras?"

Yup, people have their own priorities

and in India p'ple are quit satisfied on the victory of Bombay over New Orleans in the competition of casualities and distraction. Every now n then you get something which compares both disastors and sounds like victorious in the conclusion. Very dissapointing all this gobbling ...

No Khandu...I wud disagree with you on that. When the Bombay incident took place, some US newspapers really showed it as if we were treating the situation in a pathetic way. So if u expect people to just let such treatment pass by without any strong reaction, Im sorry but its not happening

Totally agree but its not about what US showed and what we are showing. I am not sure if p'ple, who make such kind of comment actually know what American news papers showed about Bombay. Its more like you know, Australie loses a cricket match and rest of world enjoys it and when they lose to Bangladesh it becomes the headline everywhere. So I think this prejuidice against USA in the subconcious is the result of all this gobling.
